Oregonians on WarTo rally support for the renovation of the Oregon Military Museum, named in honor of Brigadier General James B. Thayer, the Roswell Flight Test Crew video team put together this video, highlighting the service of veterans from the state who served in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq.
Among them are 101-year-old Minnie Nida, who earned four campaign ribbons and the Bronze Star for her service during the second world war, as well as former Oregon governor Ted Kulongosi, who served in the United States Marine Corps. |

Stewards of Shaver's ForkThis is an excerpt of "The Stewards of Shaver's Fork," a documentary film that has been featured on public television. Through interviews with scientists, business leaders, government officials and historians, it recounts the history of Cheat Mountain, West Virginia.
Once home to a native spruce forest that furnished the lumber for the Wright Brothers' first airplane and a famed fishing retreat of industrialists Henry Ford, Thomas Edison and Harvey Firestone, it was clear cut and degraded by acid rain — endangering native brook trout. Through hard work and innovative use of technology, community leaders and scientists from West Virginia University work to restore the environment and save the unique fishery. |
